Do you Pitch and Ditch?

Then if your social media revenue is flat you can't bitch.
People in facebook groups aren't ALL stupid. Sure there are plenty of trolls and folks with low EQ, but the gems you joined the damn group to reach...? They can tell who drops a flyer and runs, it's easy to peep someone's activity in a group, just click their profile pic!

If you pitch and ditch- we know who you are. How, you ask...?
⛔️ You don't respond to comments or questions about your business on your post
⛔️ You don't engage in opportunities to offer your services/ products when others post a need for them
⛔️ You don't capture any business with your flyers and blame the group for "sucking", not your pitch and ditch posting habits.
In short: You are using the group as a digital billboard, not behaving like a member of that community.
What do we do when we see billboards that mean nothing to us....?
WE DRIVE RIGHT PAST THEM.
But when you see a friend or familiar brand on a billboard, what do we do?
WE SAY "HEY I KNOW THEM! WHAT ARE THEY UP TO?"
Prime example: I was walking through the streets of Turks and Caicos with my husband a few months ago, recovering from too many poolside cocktails, when this happened:
Someone yells from across a shopping plaza: "Excuse me- are you Renee Ventrice?"
ME: "Depends- does Renee Ventrice owe you money?"

She laughs and says: "Oh my gosh, no- I see your posts all the time in my facebook groups, I thought you looked familiar! I love your sense of humor. I'm Cindy."
ME: "In that case, YES- I am she!"
CINDY: "I think you wrote a book, right? That's so exciting!"
ME, ALWAYS READY, HUNGOVER OR NOT:
"I am writing it as we speak, it's called POUR Relationship Choices! Scan this code and you can be on of my pre-launch VIPS!"
She scanned, bought the book, and has been a super supPOURtive VIP ever since.
She didn't recognize me because I posted "BUY MY BOOK!" over and over in the group- Cindy knew who I WAS in the community not just that I was writing a book.
(It's a number one best selling book on Amazon now, but you know, whatever...)
The point is: Cindy recognized my FACE, not just my BRAND.
HOW DO YOU CREATE COMMUNITY around your brand? By being a person FIRST.
Here are tips to impactfully engage- and before you ask- the answer is NO- an emoji, thumbs up avatar or two word basic comment does NOT count.
At a cocktail party, would you respond to the host saying "My book just launched at number one on Amazon!" by giving them a thumbs up and walking away?
If so- then do you boo, just don't expect that host to remember you or invite you back. Get all the free booze and cocktail weenies NOW.
But if not, here are a few tips on how to connect & communicate for clients & currency:
✔️ pay a compliment
✔️ give a referral
✔️ share an idea
✔️ offer assistance
✔️ make a joke
✔️ share a resource
✔️ ask a leading question

Love it and totally agree. It's sad to see people only post flyers about their business. There's plenty of those everywhere, if I'm choosing a service - I'm mainly choosing it because of the person behind it, their values, the trust I have into them and their work - can't get that from an ad.
