How the "Saquon Split" Changed My Business Perception in less than 6 seconds

Bye Like Mike- it's SUPERHUMAN SAQUON SEASON!

This is how I'm tackling EVERY challenge from now on y'all- WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT RIGHT HERE?!?! Greatness isn't just in the WIN, it's in the victorious moves along the way that get you there... just- WOW on this play!

The BIZ takeaway is what happens AFTER this unbelievable logic-defying play:

Video courtesy of Eagles Real Talk

What he did looks IMPOSSIBLE. What hit me like a lightning bolt isn't the move- it's what comes next off the field that smacked me in the forehead- are you ready...?

NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THE FACT THAT THIS PLAY WASN'T A TOUCHDOWN.

This play didn't any score points- and NO ONE cares. It energized the Eagles and dealt a crushing blow to Jaguar morale.

No one is saying he didn't do enough to gain more yards. Even Jaguars were left with mouths hanging open in MAD respect for that move, and celebrated him off the field.

This play is a reminder that victory is achieved through the march downfield, not a single moment. That each play that moves you forward should be celebrated as progress, not downplayed as not enough.

Why do we expect ourselves to immediately close deals, always profit at the end of the quarter, or expect every decision to be "THE GAME CHANGER?"

His mind-blowing display of athleticism and instinct resulted in an eventual field goal, and NO ONE is putting an asterisk next to it or downplaying its importance because it didn't lead to a touchdown.

It will change video games.

It will delight and inspire players from pee wee football to college greats.

Just scoring six points is small compared to the TRUE impact of the Saquon Split!

No one will ever achieve a "Saquon Split" on every play- not even Saquon. It was an iconic, instinctive move that may never have the opportunity to happen again.

Saquon won't measure himself by this moment and see everything else he does as not enough. READ THAT AGAIN.

We can and MUST give ourselves the same grace in business.

If a next level, physical magician like Saquon can get tackled, lose yards, fumble the ball and STILL be the GOAT player- all in the SAME game, then we can stumble, lose a bid, miss the mark and STILL be bad asses in our industries that earn and deserve the respect of our peers, haters and SELVES.

SO. I'm coining a phrase for business- you heard it here first:

WHAT'S YOUR "number 22" THIS WEEK?

Which hurdle will you leap over without hesitation? I'm no Saquon but I can (ok COULD) split in my own way- so can you.

I LOVE your spin on this. I've already shared it with the other business owners and the musicians I work with. We all need to be reminded our biggest wins don't have to have anything to do with the score of the game... and that we can fumble and be the GOAT at the same time.
