You don't go to a networking event to meet ONE person, and no one came to meet ONLY you. So how can you connect impactfully with multiple people that could become a mutually beneficial Bizlationship? I'll share one of my secrets with you....
SCENARIO: You meet someone who you'd LOVE to work with and they feel the same way, it's a Bizlationship™️ made in heaven! 💞 Then you get home, sift through the cards and CAN'T FIND THEIRS ANYWHERE, nnnnnnooooo!
SOLUTION: if there's a strong mutual connection, instead of exchanging biz cards with a promise to follow up, skip the intention and step into ACTION:

1) SAY: we should definitely dig into this conversation after this event, should we exchange numbers now? I'll text you so we can talk further after the event!
2) ACT: have a phone text shortcut READY so you can immediately and easily send them a meaningful text. Mine? I type 'ntwk' and populates this message:

Fast, easy and no business cards to be lost, washed or forgotten and time stamped trail right on your phone!
Agreement to connect, control of the follow up, and respect for their time at an event meant to meet more folks than just you.
No is good! If they decline, that's okay- you know they aren't quite as ready, so take their card with a smile. And if YOU aren't ready, request THEIR'S with a smile!
If this was helpful, woohoo! Mission accomplished! If you want to dig in deeper on connecting through conversations and networking mastery, reach out!
